BUILDING SOMETHING NEW UPON TRACES OF THE PAST

BİNA is a light installation designed for Santral Istanbul that explores the boundaries of material visibility and architectural memory, responding to the site’s layered yet often overlooked history. When the light is off, the structure remains mute and opaque, concealing the traces of the past. Only when illuminated from within do the hidden textures reveal themselves, transforming the
installation into a glowing archive of the site’s industrial identity.
